You have been so helpful in the past. And this may seem like a small prayer but honestly we need your help. My beautiful 16-year-old son Eli is competing in a tournament this Thursday, October 13 at 10 AM in Atlantic City. It is a Billiards tournaments and he is a very good player. However he’s been having a lot of trouble with his self-confidence. He gets in his head and talks down to himself (I’m terrible, I’m a loser) and just doesn’t do well. It’s just heartbreaking to watch him fall apart. He has a very good opponent this Thursday and we really really want him to play well and win.
Unfortunately this tournament is single elimination- meaning if he loses this one match he’s out of the tournament. His last few tournaments have not gone very well and he feels really down on himself despite practicing daily, seeing Sports Psychologist and working on his game with his coach. He’s done absolutely everything he just needs to know that he can do it.
Please please please please please I beg of you to let him win three matches. I just don’t want us to fly to the tournament and have it be over within an hour. This will just destroy him. He’s been working so hard. He goes to school six days a week for 12 hours a day and studies like crazy. He really really needs your help and support to win a couple of matches in this tournament. I don’t expect nor am I asking him to win the whole tournament -I just don’t want him to be out after one game. That would destroy his self esteem. I know this may seem small but as his mother it’s been heartbreaking to watch him tear himself down mentally and fail. I’ve been crying all the time and I just don’t know what to do. I don’t want him to feel like a failure anymore. Please please please help us.
