I have been searching for anything I can do for these two families that lost their 14 year old boys to a drunk driver. I found this site and am relieved at the idea that I can send this prayer request out.
The teens were on their local high school tennis team. They were their way home from getting food following a local sporting event for their team. A 17-year-old was the driver, a 16-year-old was in the left rear and the two 14-year-olds were on the right side of the vehicle, in the front and back, and took the brunt of the crash.
The drunk driver was driving on the wrong side of the road and collided with the car that had the four teens inside. The drunk driver allegedly had a blood alcohol level that was more than twice the legal limit.
“Probably one of the most catastrophic scenes I’ve seen in a long time,” Det. Capt. said. “It was almost like the car exploded, that’s how fast the driver hit that car with these kids in it.”
In addition to asking for prayers for the families that lost their children, I ask for prayers for the two other teens in the car and their families who have suffered a severe trauma and will be forever changed, as well as all people who are mourning this tragic loss. Lastly, I asked for prayers for the drunk driver and his family. He will undoubtedly go to jail for a very long time but will most likely suffer the mental anguish and consequences of his actions forever.
I will look at the other prayer requests and pray for them as well.
