God’s Reflected Glory – Thursday, May 9th, 2019

This afternoon friends and I went kayaking down Shingles River in Florida. It was a dazzling day to be out. The river was clear and shallow, full of fish and turtles. Trees lined the bank; their images reflected on the water. It was an hour filled with beauty, quiet and pleasure.

Paddling slowly down the river made us appreciate the intricacies and grandeur of nature. The turtle had a design on its shell, the bird had a pattern to its feathers and the river itself had form. The beauty we see on the earth reminds us that a beautiful God reflected His glory in creation.

Psalm 50:2 says, “Perfect in beauty, God shines forth.” When we see and experience beautiful things in the world we must remember that from beauty God shines forth. Beauty comes from God. When we see or experience beautiful things we see through them the beauty and splendor of God.

God fills the world with beauty so we will be reminded that we serve a beautiful God.
