I am overwhelmed with a huge debt – mortgage over 600k and 100k in other debts (credit cards, etc.). I am 72 and have been a Christian for 63 years. I pray and trust God to look after me and my family. He always has come through but I am feeling overwhelmed today. Two years ago I was dying from stage 4 Lymphoma but I survived. My treatments made me dizzy and I fell and broke my hip. Ten days later my husband broke his hip. He reacted to the anaesthetic with delirium and hallucinations so they gave him more drugs with the same reactions. Then they diagnosed him with Parkinson’s. He was in hospital 4 months. Once he was home he learned to walk with a walker but fell this past October and went back to hospital. I told them no drugs but they didn’t listen and he had vivid hallucinations and hasn’t recovered from them. He is now bed-ridden. He can’t afford to retire even though he is 74, because our savings are gone and we couldn’t pay the mortgage on our pensions. He is only able to counsel 2 patients/clients a day by phone, so our income is about 20% of what it used to be. We can’t sell the house for 3 years when the mortgage is up and it needs a lot of repairs which we can’t afford to do. We need prayer for our debt and daily expenses as well as healing for my husband. I also need strength to look after him, help with the business, and de-clutter the house. I want to be a testimony to others of how God looks after us, but today I feel broken and so tired.
