To become childlike in my obedience to the Lord.

by Mike (Virginia)

Dear Lord, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Pray for me that I may become more childlike in responding to the various
sacrifices, and works of mercy, and spiritual practices of prayer, that is, practicing my Catholic faith more fully. Rather than simply pray the Liturgy of Hours four times per day, say a Rosary, and Divine Mercy Chaplet, daily, and on Fridays the Stations of the Cross, I find myself sitting in front of the TV searching for some self satisfying program (I like the 1930-40 movies).
On Tuesday, my wife, to cut cost cancelled our tier TV programing, and 120 channels were locked. I felt FREE at last to spend more time in my prayer room. I just about got over feeling the loss, and started to spend more time in my Catholic studies and prayer, then on Friday, she called the provider and had the programs returned at a small discount. This was like eating from the Tree of Life, I was tempted once again. Oh, the woman’s name with whom she spoke was EVE.
Lord help me to become more childlike in worshiping and praying to you.
Scold me as a Father does his son, to make him obey more. I will try my best to walk away from sin, and my TV. Thank you. Pax et Bonum.
