Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, and precious Holy Spirit, You have taken me from 245 lbs to 166 lbs and I praise and thank You for this amazing gift. You have asked me to bring myself under control and You have shown me how, and with Your abiding help and continual guidance I will continue to do so … but I still struggle with my own selfish will and worldly desires.
Help me be faithful in recording my diet, exercise, and weight on the MyFitnessPal app. I know this has been instrumental in helping me stay focused and my recent vacation in Europe with little to no internet and crazy travel schedules have played havoc with my daily routine. Help me to remember that carbs are my biggest downfall and that they are hidden in almost all of my favorite fruits and vegetables.
Help me continue to reach my daily goal of 10,000+ steps each day. This has probably been my most surprising joy because I love prayer-walking and the steps add up quickly. Doubling and even tripling these steps daily in Europe really helped me return to the States minus 4 more pounds, and for this I am very grateful, especially since I often lost track of what I was eating and drinking in the hectic hustle and bustle of travel.
Lord, help me keep my meals simple and nourishing! Help me eat to live and not live to eat! Help me get actively into prayer when I find myself craving something that will not help me on this journey, and keep my mind centered on You at all times. You truly are my strength and my high-tower, my refuge in times of trouble. You are my rock and my salvation, my ever-present help when I am overwhelmed or confused.
I love You, Lord, with all my heart. Thank You for loving me … for encouraging me … and for walking with me each and every moment of my life. Thank You for always sending just the right people into my life at the just the right time, and thank You for helping me recognize them as Your faithful and obedient servants. Alleluia! And help me be this kind of help and encouragement to others in need. I pray and ask for all these things in the holy and precious name of Jesus.
Amen.Return to Prayer Diet
