My mother is very emotionally distant from me. She has lived with me for 23 years but these last 2 years we find that we no longer see eye to eye on my faith walk, and my disciplining my children; resulting in our relationship being broken and empty of communication and respect. There’s much resentment on both sides. She has not reacted kindly on my engagement, nor acknowledged my Birthday or Retirement and often has neglected her grandchildren outside and inside of the house. I pray daily and ask that you please join me in requesting that her heart be open and not be so hardened by our differences. That she learn to accept and love those that God has placed around her in her hard journey. I believe she has turned her into stoic dad who wasn’t quite affectionate nor grateful. Pray that she let go of her many grudges she holds for years on end. Pray that the Holy Spirit dwell in her so that may benefit and gain much knowledge when reading a Bible and learn to treat others with respect and a truth for life. May God captivate her heart and mind for the rest of her life so she can feel His peace and love and always learn to be more compassionate towards others around her. Please pray for her to be saved and to not let negativity live in her heart or mind ever more. To find the strength to always live by what God’s word says and seek guidance in the Bible daily. She needs to show more forgiveness in her heart for herself and for others. To reach out more to others in a miraculous way. She’s closed herself and doesn’t initiate first contact or conversations.
