Thank you, thank you, thank you for ALL of YOUR PRAYERS.
Hugh had something called TGA, or Transient Global Amnesia. It is fairly rare with 5 – 30 cases per 100,000. It is a condition wherein someone losses their memory for a period of from 1 – 24 hours and is NOT a stroke. It is very frightening to watch. Hugh perseverated, asking the same questions over and over. While he had long term memory, for a time he couldn’t remember anything that happened during the last 6 months or so and he was locked in that time frame. By the time we left the hospital, just after midnight, his memory was pretty much back. The long term prognosis for a TGA is excellent and the risk of a follow-on stroke is no higher than that of the general population. I thank God for his healing, for your prayers and for keeping me calm so that I could answer the same questions over and over again for hours on end without losing it. The Emergency room personnel were WONDERFUL!! We have been BLESSED!
Love and Blessings to you ALL!
