Please, God, fix me, fix her, then fix us

by Eric ()

Dear Lord, You are the great creator, the great healer, and in you all things are possible. I am a sinner, broken and imperfect, and I have failed in my marriage, in my relationship, and in You.

I know the marriage was troubled, and all who know us tell me she’s wrong for me, that she’s harmful to me. But Lord, I have seen your light in her, and she brought me to Your cross. I know the love and light behind her pain and anger, and I know the fire you’ve placed in me that burns behind my own pain and anger.

Lord, release us both form the pain and anger, from the troubles of this worlkd and the lives we’ve lived. Heal us both, Lord, and when we’re healed, bring us back together, as a testament to the power of your love and mercy. Bind those who speak against us, they do not know your power, they do not know your heart. Cast aside the forces that fight against us and cause us to come together again in you, as we once did, before I lost sight of Your glory and focused on my work and my own earthly needs, and ignored your Word. Forgive that I did not honor my wife as I should, and that while I was never unfaithful, I was also not the husband I should have been.

Please, Lord, remove the pain, the anger, all the darkness and everything that is not from You. Bring us together in You, so that we can go forth and do Your work as we once planned to do.

Amen
