Peace from a broken heart.

by Linda (Northern California)

Pray for my youngest son who is 24. His heart has been broken by infidelity and he is trying to find his way back in life.

He owns a home as a job but feels that he is missing a wife and children at this time. But I tell them he wants those things with the right woman. And so to get through the lonely nights he is with friends and they drink. Please pray that he can find the peace in his life and to realize that he is a good person with a big heart. That he is very personable and that many people care and love him.

And pray that he will find his way back to the life he wants without alcohol but with God and his family.

  1. Prayer for Love

    Hi Linda,

I’ll pray for your son. I understand how difficult it can be to feel lonely & how it can seem easier to search for love in external things, even if they’re not healthy or really fulfilling.

I’m also praying for you, because I know how hard it can be to watch someone you love suffer.

I agree with a previous commenter that attending church services might help. Or, connecting with others in healthier ways, maybe through volunteering or joining a sports team or spending time in nature or whatever else he’s interested in. There are also 12 step support groups (like Alcoholics Anonymous) that can help people learn how to develop healthy relationships without drinking alcohol.

I wish you and your son all the best and will continue to pray for you!

  2. The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter

The heart is a lonely hunter. If he really longs to fill it he will not and can not with something that over time will send his life in a turmiol of no return .Alcohol & alcohol related problems destroy lives, families, hopes & dreams.
I pray that your son will understand the need to build a strong spiritual life so he can recognize his self worth, love him self & not become a victim. I encourage him to meditate on this Scripture.Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart & lean not unto your own understanding.

  3. Its gonna be ok

I could understand how he is feeling. It pains alot. He should find solace in God. He should do things which likes doing, should carry forward his hobbies. May God bless him. Don’t worry Ms. Linda, we will all pray for him.
