Overcoming Leukemia

by Avery (Austin, Texas)

I would first like to say that the wonderful person that this story is about is not me. It is about an amazingly powerful woman named Rose. Growing up, her father was a minister for the local Baptist curch. She had four siblings, two brothers, and two sisters.

She also had Leukemia.
At about 12, the sickness got really bad and she was confined in a bed in children’s hospital, 50 miles away from her hometown. After about 2 months, she was paralyzed from the waist down and couldn’t feel anything. The doctors told her parents to prepare her for the worst, as she was not expected to make it to 13 years old.
One day, her father attended a Bapsist convention, and asked the people to pray for his daughter. That night, at the hospital, the doctors discovered a miracle: Rose could move and feel again. Her father called the convention and told them the wonderfull news. The prayed more, and within a month she was totaly healed. But, the story doesn’t end there.
In college, she went on to be the track team leader, and was said to be one of the best college female runners in the country. She also went on to be an OLYMPIC ATHLETE! She ran in the 1996 olympics, and did pretty well.
I hope that this story inspires you just as much as it did for me. Never forget that God always listens to your prayers, no matter what. Have a great day!
