Hugh was at the Rheumatologist’s office at 8:30 AM yesterday. As a result of the Emergency Room visit on Sunday, numerous tests were run. One of those showed fluid indicating Gout and not Pseudo Gout as heretofore thought. That was a game-changer as treatment meds are different. By Monday night Hugh’s pain had reduced significantly to the point that he can again bend his knee a bit and walk more easily with the crutches. He has even smiled a bit!!! His recovery will still be a long one; for several months he will have to take anti-coagulation drugs and a gazillion others….but we feel greatly encouraged. The date of his knee replacement surgery has been moved to July 17th.
