Dear Heavenly Father,
I understand that we will all experience those times in life that leave us devastated. Thank you for teaching us through your son Jesus how to help others going through tough times. Give me a heart to serve and a willingness to obey. Show me Your ways, Lord.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed looking at the needs around me. I want to help but don’t know where to start. I pray for wisdom and discernment as I reach out to others. Whether poor in provision or poor in spirit, You have provided ways I can help. Lead me as I use what you’ve given me to be the hands and feet of Jesus in my community.
With all the tragedies in the world, it’s easy to overlook the needs right around me. Direct me to those people in my own family, church, and neighborhood who need the love of Jesus right now. Show me how to be a friend to someone who needs that today. And when I’m in need, thank you for sending someone into my life to offer support and care.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you, Lord, that you did not leave us empty-handed. That we have the truth of your word to depend on to navigate us through this world. Father, we ask that you would give us your mind. Help us to filter everything that comes across our minds through your perspective. We want a mind like Christ and want to be transformed through the renewing of our mind.
We ask that the Holy Spirit please reveal to us anything we are listening to our watching that is feeding our mind negative thoughts that we may be unaware of. Please protect our minds and prompt us in those moments to rid ourselves of anything that is not focused on you.
Lord, we ask that you change the way we think. That you would please guide us into your path you have for us. That the voices we hear and the things we set our sights on would be honoring to you. Help us to think on things above, not on things of this world. (Colossians 1:3). As your word says in Philippians 4:9, remind us “to think on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, are of good report…anything praiseworthy, to think on such things.” We want to honor you in all that we do. We love you, Lord.
In Jesus’ Name,
I so desperately want to be a friend who can be real. Help me to have courage in sharing my struggles with others that they might encourage me and love me through them. Help me to be available for my friends to listen when they need me. And more than anything, Lord, help me to surrender wholeheartedly to you and seek you always.
In Your Mighty Name,
Lord Jesus, I invite you into my life today. I give you control of my difficult situation. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, so I can take courage and not be afraid. Forgive me for worrying instead of trusting in your steadfast love and infinite power.
Calm the storm inside me and the winds coming against me. Help me today to remember you are with me. Show me step by step what to do in this situation, and when there is nothing I can do, help me to rest in you and trust your faithfulness.
I know you see me, and I invite you into my boat today. Jesus, I call on you to help me navigate my circumstances. I praise you for your great power to speak peace over my fears. I surrender every worry and concern to you. Instead of fearing the worst, I choose to trust you are working for my good. Fill me with faith and give me the grace I need.
In your powerful name I pray, Amen.
