Dear friends,
My family is in turmoil and needs healing and comforting. From a sibling with history of substance abuse it has caused a end of more violent behavior towards our mother. She in turn has had to place a protective order against him, which in turn has angered him more than ever. I feel that I’m in the middle.
I pray for his mental being be healed to have and live in peace. I pray for our mother to have the strength to continue to be able to be in peace as well until my sibling is healed. My sibling has stated I am the only one he feels that he can talk to at this time and I also need prayer to have strength and knowledge of providing the right words to say to keep on healing his heart.
I will pray for an end to this horrible situation in your family. May your sibling decide that they need to address their own issues and quit blaming family. I pray for protection for your mom and yourself. I feel that I should ask if you have anyone you can turn too with your burdens. (besides God) a prayer partner a trusted friend mature in Godly faith. This is a pretty heavy load for you to carry, you should not feel like you are in the middle being torn to support one and not the other. Both your MOM and your brother need you but more than that you need to make sure your own Oxygen Mask is in place (analogy from airplane survival tips) before you can really do much to help others. This is your brothers battle; he needs to be held accountable for his choices. Of course I am not sure but it appears this is what your MOM is presently trying to do. A very hard choice for a mother to make, believe me I know as I have been there myself. I know God loves him and desires a saving relationship with Him. I pray that your role will be turning him continually to God to the source of his healing physically mentally and spiritually. With out this there can be no true healing and you run the risk of becoming an enabler to his poor choices. I pray that you hear the Lord’s direction clearly in your heart and mind as you follow Him and read His Word and that through the power of the Holy Spirit you will have strength to stand for that truth no matter what comes. The victory will come. (it did for us) Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. 1 Peter 5:5b-7 God is opposed to the Proud but gives grace to the humble 6Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Matthew 11:28-30 28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.â€
Dear Lord
I thank you that we can bring our burdens to the foot of your cross and lay them there. You have promised to never leave us or forsake us and even though sometimes we feel very alone, I know you honor heart felt prayer for our families and loved ones. Please help this Godly woman to have the supernatural strengthen and wisdom she needs in this really emotional and tragic situation. Send her comfort and support Lord. Protect her and her loved ones from the consequences of poor choices by the one. Please bring ministers of your truth around this man to speak to him about your love and your forgiveness and the ability to walk free from drugs and in wholeness of mind and spirit. Bring him healing help for his mental health problems and for help with his drug addictions. Make him open to accepting this help we pray in Jesus Name. AMEN.
