Lord I ask that you help me to forgive my mother and father for separating and divorcing and the impact that it had on my sister and I. Help me to realise that their actions were not in my control, that they did what they felt was the right thing to do. Help me to forgive my mother for heavily abusing alcohol when I was a child, help me to realise that she was hurting and was in a lot of pain, I ask that you send her healing. Lord help me to forgive my father for being predominantly absent during my childhood, I hope that if it be in your will, that one day we will have a loving relationship. In your name we pray. Amen.
