I have become caregiver for my Father with dementia that has occurred suddenly. We have never had that good of a relationship so this is difficult to say the least! He is very demanding and hard to get along with, the incontinence and constant care is draining. It has totally changed mine and my husband’s active lifestyle, ie: we can’t go anywhere without hiring a private caregiver to sit with him, anyone that comes to my home, he acts terribly because he is not the center of attention.
I need prayers for forgiveness, patience, wisdom to know what to do for him and provide the best care, my marriage-that I have the mental and physical energy for my husband, my family- that I can have time to spend with my adult daughters like I always have and my 3 small grandchildren that I have been very active with.
