The “Salve Regina”, also known as the “Hail Holy Queen”, is a prayer and hymn to Mother Mary and one of four Marian hymns sung at different times within the Christian liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. The Salve Regina is traditionally chanted at Compline from the Saturday before Trinity Sunday until the Friday before the first Sunday of Advent. The Hail Holy Queen is also the final prayer of the Rosary.
Hail Holy Queen – “Salve Regina”
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Origin and History
Hail Holy Queen was introduced in its current form at the Abbey of Cluny in the 12th century, where it was used as a processional chant on Marian feasts. The Cistercians sang the Salve Regina daily from 1218. It was popular at medieval universities as an evening song, and according to Fr. Juniper Carol, it came to be part of the ceremony for the blessing of a ship. While the hymn was featured largely in liturgical and in general popular Catholic devotion, it was particularly beloved by sailors.
In the 18th century, the Salve Regina served as the outline for the classic Roman Catholic Mariology book The Glories of Mary by Saint Alphonsus Liguori. In the first part of the book Alphonsus, a Doctor of the Church discusses the Salve Regina and explains how God gave Mary to mankind as the “Gate of Heaven”.
Hail Holy Queen has been featured in the 1992 comedy film Sister Act, starring Whoopi Goldberg. In the movie, the hymn is first sung in the traditional style, before changing into an uptempo, soul, and gospel music-influenced arrangement.
An Act of Contrition is a type of Christian prayer that demonstrates repentance for sins. It may be used in a liturgical service or privately, primarily in connection with an inspection of conscience.
The Act of Contrition is part of the Sacrament of Penance and is prayed by the penitent following the priest assigning penance and before giving the penitent absolution. It is also generally said before one goes to bed at night.
It is commonly thought that individuals might have recourse to an Act of Contrition when they are in extremis, which means “In the last extreme, a person at the point of death when all positive ecclesiastical laws are subordinated to the primary responsibility of preparing the one dying for entrance into eternity.” The prayer declares in words a deeply personal “act” that involves a person’s heart and will.
As written in the Catechism of the Catholic Church 1430-31,
“Jesus’ call to conversion and penance, like that of the prophets before Him, does not aim first at outward works, ‘sackcloth and ashes, ‘ fasting and mortification, but at the CONVERSION OF THE HEART, INTERIOR CONVERSION. Without this, such penances remain sterile and false; however, interior conversion urges expression in visible signs, gestures, and works of penance.
Interior repentance is a radical reorientation of our whole life, a return, a conversion to God with all our heart, an end of sin, a turning away from evil, with repugnance toward the evil actions we have committed. At the same time, it entails the desire and resolution to change one’s life, with hope in God’s mercy and trust in the help of His grace.”
Traditional Act of Contrition Prayer
Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven, and the pains of hell; but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.
Modern Act of Contrition Prayer
Lord have mercy on me Do not look upon my sins But take away all my guilt Create in me a clean heart And renew within me an upright spirit Amen.
Act of Contrition for Anglican Communion
ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father; We have erred, and strayed from Thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against Thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. But Thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou them, O God, which confess their faults. Restore thou them that are penitent; According to Thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for His sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, To the glory of Thy Holy Name. Amen.
Lutheran Version
O Almighty God, merciful Father, I a poor, miserable sinner, confess to You all my sins and iniquities, with which I have ever offended You and justly deserved Your punishment now and forever. But I am heartily sorry for them and sincerely repent of them, and I pray You of Your boundless mercy, and for the sake of the holy, innocent, bitter sufferings and death of Your beloved son, Jesus Christ, to be gracious and merciful to me, a poor sinful being.
The Angelus prayer is a well-known Catholic prayer, traditionally said 3 times each day. It is a daily reminder to let God’s will be done in our life, harkening to the Annunciation of Mother Mary.
The Angelus Prayer conveys the message from the angel Gabriel to Mary declaring God’s plan for her life. This was a crucial moment in mankind’s fate, where Mary’s yes to God began Christ’s work of salvation for humanity. Praying the Angelus prayer is unique because we say it at specific times of the day, bringing our minds and hearts to Christ throughout the day.
In the Angelus prayer, we observe and emulate Mary’s example of devotion to God’s will. In fact, all of mankind’s salvation depended on the moment where “the Word became flesh.”
History of the Angelus Prayer
The Angelus prayer began as a way for workers to pray in the evening, at the conclusion of their workday. It would regularly correspond with monks praying their Evening Prayer. At first, this prayer solely involved three Hail Marys to praise the Annunciation.
By the first decades of the 14th century, praying the 3 Hail Marys at dusk grew to be quite popular. It was even promoted and gratified by Pope John XXII. Catholic tradition suggests that the original author of the Angelus prayer was Benedetto Sinigardi.
The ringing of the Angelus bells preceded the prayer to inform people that it was time to pray. Soon this also included praying both in the morning and at midday. Although not all of the devoted could pray the Liturgy of the Hours like the monks, they could still include this prayer throughout their day.
Catholic Quotes
Pope St. Paul VI writes in his Apostolic Exhortation Marialis Cultus: “What we have to say about the Angelus is meant to be only a simple but earnest exhortation to continue its traditional recitation wherever and whenever possible. The Angelus does not need to be revised, because of its simple structure, its biblical character, its historical origin which links it to the prayer for peace and safety, and its quasi-liturgical rhythm which sanctifies different moments during the day, and because it reminds us of the Paschal Mystery, in which recalling the Incarnation of the Son of God we pray that we may be led “through his passion and cross to the glory of his resurrection.”
Cardinal St. John Henry Newman even says that reciting “the Angelus devoutly” every day is a part of a perfect day.
The Angelus Prayer
The Angel of the LORD declared unto Mary,
And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary, full of grace; the LORD is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Behold the handmaid of the LORD.
Be it done unto me according to thy word.
Hail Mary, full of grace; the LORD is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
And the Word was made flesh.
And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary, full of grace; the LORD is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
That we might be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray, Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O LORD, Thy grace into our hearts; that, we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.

A New Year’s Prayer for Wisdom
God, Give me wisdom from your truths, fill me with a desire to faithfully follow after you, more than any other thing. Thank you that you are far greater than whatever I may face in the day. Thank you that your presence goes with me and that your joy is never dependent on circumstances, but it is my true and lasting strength. I ask for your peace to lead me and for your grace and goodness to cover my life this day. Let your Spirit and power breathe in me and through me again, fresh and new.
Dear Jesus, You are awesome in glory and majestic in power. You are the King over all the earth, and You are my King. Today begins a new year for me. Thank You for Your promise that You’re preparing a place for me. With that promise tucked in my heart, I can stand secure in You as Lord of my life. Thank You for sealing me with Your Spirit and engraving my name on the palm of Your hand.
Thank You that You have made and are making me beautiful in Your sight. Help me to confidently walk in that beauty. Prepare my heart for my reunion with You at the foot of Your eternal throne.
Awake my soul morning by morning to meet with You. Fix my heart on Your steadfast Word. Show me my sin. Humble my heart to repent of it. Sift me if You need to, Lord. Destroy in me anything that steals my affection from You. Give me an obedient, surrendered heart.
Draw me close so that I can hear even the faintest of Your whispers. Saturate me with Your love so that I can love lavishly and give generously. Ignite a fire in my heart for more of You. Infuse me with the fullness of Your Holy Spirit power and use me as Your vessel. Revive me when I am weary.
Strengthen me from within to walk in the plans You have for me, to follow Your will, even when it’s hard. Enable me to trust You in all things. Show me Your ways and move my heart to walk in them.
I love You, Jesus! And I ask all this in Your precious and holy Name.
O Lord, you have mercy on all. Take away my sins, and mercifully kindle in me the fire of your Holy Spirit. Take away my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh, a heart to love and adore you, a heart to delight in you, to follow and to enjoy you, for Christ’s sake. Amen.

Love, Light, and Renewal
O beloved, Love eternal, my good, happiness which knows no bounds, I desire to grasp you with most worthy reverence. I desire to reserve nothing for myself.
O Everlasting Light, surpassing all created lights: flash your lightning from above and penetrate all the corners of my heart.
Cleanse, beautify and revive my spirit with all its powers: that I may cling to you with highest joy.

A Prayer for Faith in the New Year
Lord, even though I woke up with the same troubles I had yesterday, I know there is great power in my choices. So today, dear God, once again, I choose to listen for your voice above everything else. Forgive me for not trusting you enough. Forgive me for spinning my wheels and trying to work everything out all on my own. Help me to truly let go of what you have asked me to release to you and to believe that you’re at work in ways I can’t fully see. Help me in my unbelief.
Prayer To Not Drift from God
Forgive us for drifting away from you, for allowing other things to become more important in our lives. Help us to live aware, to choose wisely, to stay close to you, and anchored in your Truth. Apart from you, we have no hope. Thank you for your great love and mercy, thank you that you wait for us, that you call us to yourself, and you strengthen us in our weakness. Thank you that you alone are our Refuge and Safety, and you fill us with hope. We come to you today, choosing to walk in Your Presence and Light. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
We hope these new year’s prayers helped to guide you in requests to God for renewed faith, courage and love. May God Bless you in 2024!

What to Know about Coronavirus
According to the Center for Disease Control, coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated COVID-19, began in Wuhan, China as the result of an animal-to-person spread from a market. In this article, we’ll refer to the disease as the coronavirus since that is the phrase most commonly used with the public. The CDC states,
“Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses. Some cause illness in people, and others, such as canine and feline coronaviruses, only infect animals. Rarely, animal coronaviruses that infect animals have emerged to infect people and can spread between people. This is suspected to have occurred for the virus that causes COVID-19. Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) are two other examples of coronaviruses that originated from animals and then spread to people. More information about the source and spread of COVID-19 is available on the Situation Summary: Source and Spread of the Virus.”
In addition to the CDC’s guide to protect yourself during this outbreak, here we have gathered prayers about Coronavirus to give thanks for God’s protection and healing in praise of His love and mercy.
Daily Coronavirus Prayers
Pray to God in the morning,
“Father, thank you for this new day. Though I don’t know all the challenges I’ll face, I know You will be with me and You are my hope. You are my strength. You will give me wisdom as I seek Your perspective in Your Word. I pray for those who are hurting or lonely today—that you will comfort them. I pray for those who are ill—that you will heal them. I pray for those who are concerned about what may come in the next uncertain hours—that you will grant them peace as they trust You. Thank you for being our safe haven and solid refuge because of the work of Christ and the Holy Spirit working in us. Amen.”
Pray to God during the day,
“Dear Lord, as I continue through this day, help me look to Jesus, my Overcomer, and find strength in Him. I give You my worries and fears, and every struggle, and I ask You to transform my thinking as I focus on things that are excellent and praiseworthy, and thoughts that will honor and please You. I pray my mind and heart will not be shaken by circumstances, but that I will lean hard into Your presence, peace, purpose, provision, and power. Thank you for being my hope and strength today. Amen.”
Pray to God at night,
“Dear Father God, thank you for being my help today—perhaps in ways that are unseen. You have guided and protected me, cared for and comforted me. In this crisis and in every struggle in life, You have shown Yourself faithful. You are the God of Hope, and I’m thankful tonight for joy and peace in Your presence. I pray again for my family and friends in need, and for others who are also hurting or lonely tonight. If they know You, please be their refuge and strength, Lord. And if they don’t know You, I ask You to use their tough circumstances to draw them and show them their need for salvation in Jesus. I am confident You will abide with me in the days ahead and will ultimately take me to live with You forever. You are sovereign, good, loving and kind, Lord, and I praise Your worthy name. Amen.”
Prayers about Coronavirus: Healing, Comfort, and Strength
A Prayer for Those Who Are Ill with Coronavirus
Father God,
You are the ultimate Healer. Father, we come before You to pray for those infected with this virus. We pray for not only their healing but for them to be comforted while they heal. Lord, please eradicate every ounce of this virus from their bodies. Please heal every cell in their bodies, every infected part of their being. We pray for no lasting effects in their bodies from this illness. Father, please heal them inside and out and provide them with the medical care they need, with the medications they need, and with the healing not only physically but spiritually so that they may live life and life abundantly ahead.

A Prayer for Those Who Are Worried about the Spread of the Coronavirus
Father,
Worry and fear are not of Your heart. 1 John 4 reminds us that perfect love casts out all fear, and we pray Your perfect love upon the hearts of all those who are burdened with the fear of this virus. Lord, we know with no doubt that You are bigger than the threat of anything, especially illnesses. Please comfort those who are living in fear, please free them from the bondage that anxiety creates within. Remind them that You are still on the Throne and that You are still in control. Fully rain down the serenity that comes only from the Prince of Peace. Help those who are living in unease to trust You in this time so that in times to come we may rest assured that You will be faithful to be with us until the end of the age. We rest at the Throne of the Almighty such fears and cast them upon You (1 Peter 5:7), for Your burden is Light and Your Yoke is easy (Matthew 11:30), we know You cover us with Your wings (Psalm 91:4).
In Jesus’ name, Amen
A Prayer for Those Treating the Sick
Father,
We come to pray for those who are caring for the sick. It takes a kind and selfless heart to care for those who are sick, and so Father we pray for them. We pray that You would be their source of rest, their source of replenishment when weary, and their source of hope in such overwhelming times. Lord we know in Luke 6:38 that whosoever pours out shall be given back in proportion, so we pray blessings upon these caregivers. We also pray for their health that they may not fall ill. Father protect them with a hedge of protection against the germs of coronavirus and help those who are giving to be protected as they nurse others back to health. Bless them, oh Lord.
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Often, our days can be full of deliverables that we become drowned in the moment of work, school and other activities. In all these things that we do, we get lost in ourselves and we forget that we are loved by our Creator. This makes it important to pray at night so we can remind ourselves of the existence of an ever-loving God who supports and provides for us every single hour of the day. This moment to ourselves or with others allows us time to relieve all the stress and dwell on the gratitude of the day that was gifted to us. Here are some night prayers to guide you on your end of day prayer.
Night Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for this day. We are grateful for the strength You gave us today to get our work done. We are thankful for Your provisions every day, that we may have food on the table, a roof over our heads, and a peaceful place to sleep at night.
As we lay our heads to rest, we ask for Your protection over us, our families, and everyone in our household. Grant us peace of mind so that we may rest well tonight. Keep our homes safe from any danger. Let no thieves break in and steal. Let no calamity befall this house as we sleep. And let no worries and anxiety disturb our minds in our slumber.
We also pray, God, that You will renew our strength to face another day. Grant us a good night’s sleep so that tomorrow, we can face any challenge that awaits us. Remind our hearts not to worry, but to be thankful for the day ahead. In Your Name, we pray, Amen.

Allow us to regain our strength for tomorrow, God, so that we may wake up in earnest expectation of the day ahead. As we lay our heads on our pillows, we are thankful that You will allow us to wake up once again tomorrow well-rested. In Your Name, we pray, Amen.
Bedtime Prayer for Kids
Dear God, thank You for creating us uniquely and wonderfully. Thank You for the good times You let us experience today. Thank You, God, for our parents who love us very much. Please continue to provide our needs. Keep Mom and Dad safe from harm. Allow them to be blessings to us each and every day.
Father God, we thank You too for giving us the gift of education. Thank You also for our minds that are willing to learn. Allow us to be excellent in school so that we may honor our parents and honor You as well.
As we rest tonight, grant us protection, Father God. Give us strength again for tomorrow. Protect and bless Mom and Dad too, so that they will be ready for another day. In Your Name, we pray, Amen.
Prayer for Protection before Sleep
Father God, we ask for Your protection tonight as we close our eyes and lay our heads to rest. We confess that there are many things we are afraid of what may happen during the dead of night. Cover us, God, and let no harm come to us as we rest. Protect our home from thieves. Let no sudden disease afflict us. And we ask that You let the peace of mind rule in us through the night. Thank You, God, for the protection and good night’s rest that You will give us. In Your Name, we pray, Amen.
By allowing ourselves to take that pause and to breath, we bring ourselves time to think of what is important and what isn’t. This is the moment to just free ourselves from anxiety and simply submit to the power that is above us all. This is also the best hour to provide space in our hearts to let go of any concerns that may keep us from having a good night. This is also a time to ask for guidance from the Creator who knows about us more than anyone.
Use the prayers above to shelter yourself with God’s loving embrace as you go into a peaceful night. And by this, you will wake up the next morning filled with gratitude for another day in your temporary life here on earth. Always remember to make your night prayer an evening habit.

It can be recalled that in the New Testament details, a tender relationship between the Holy Spirit and Jesus was solidified through the earthly life and the ministry. Jesus is stated in The Gospels of Matthew and Luke and the Nicene Creed as “conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary”. Therefore, the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus in the form of a dove during his baptism. During the Last Supper, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to his disciples.
Being a Christian is about having the Holy Spirit dwell in individual believers. This enables us to live in a life of faith and righteousness because the Holy Spirit intercedes and supports our every act. The Holy Spirit also acts as our comforter and Paraclete especially when we are undergoing a life of difficulty. For this, many prayers fo the Holy Spirit is directed to ask for favors in order to overcome challenges or succeed in our plans.
Let these prayers for the Holy Spirit lead you as you ask for guidance.
A Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Lord, we acknowledge that on our own, our efforts to pray are not enough. We try very hard to pray on our own, yet we fail. We are not as prayerful as much as we should be, and we do not pray with the right attitude as well.
For this, we ask you, Lord, to let your Spirit lead our prayer time. Allow us not to be overwhelmed by our concerns. Allow us to follow the leading of your Spirit. May we recognize Your presence and be at peace as we pray.
Thank You, Lord, for letting us draw near to you. Thank You for calming our hearts and relieving us of worry. You have said in your Word not to worry about anything, but in prayer and petition, let our requests be made known to You. Now, as we stand before Your throne, we present our concerns to You.
We also acknowledge Your sovereignty, Lord. So as we present these concerns, may Your Spirit give peace to our hearts as You answer our prayers. Your answers may not be the ones we wanted, but Your will be done, Lord. We ask Your Spirit to give us submitting hearts so that we may yield to Your will. In Your Name, we pray, Amen.
Come Holy Spirit Prayer
Come fill our hearts, Holy Spirit. Let our hearts be full of the love of God. Let this love overflow in us so we may share it with others too. Lord, let your Spirit reign in us so that we may be channels of blessing to everyone we meet today.
Lord, let Your Spirit guide our lives today. On our own, we tend to sin. We pray that He would convict us whenever we think of committing a sin. We humbly ask Him to take our thoughts captive and make them obedient to You. On this day, we ask the Spirit to let no evil thoughts come to fruition. Rather, soften our hearts so that we may express love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These we pray in Your Name, Amen.
Holy Spirit Prayer for Miracles
Lord, our lives are full of challenges. These challenges can be so overwhelming that we can no longer figure out what to do anymore. There are times that we just want to give up because of our weakness.
Teach us, Lord, to walk by Your Spirit in these trying times. We ask You to make miracles in our lives through Your Spirit, transforming these challenges into opportunities for us to grow in faith. Grant us the miracles of overcoming these challenges, Lord, that You may be glorified. We ask the Spirit to give us endurance that we may face these challenges head-on. Allow us not to waver nor falter in the midst of them. In Your Name, we pray all these things, Amen.
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for this new day. Thank You for allowing us to wake up once again. Your steadfast love never ceases, and Your mercies are new every morning.
As we start our day, God, we may once more be locked up in our routines. We ask the Holy Spirit to always remind us of Your presence, God. Let us not forget that You are always there to answer our prayers wherever we are.
We also ask Your Spirit to move in us that we may reflect Your holiness today. In this world, there are many temptations to sin. But through the power of Your Spirit, we can do the right things. Remind us, Holy Spirit, that we are no longer slaves to sin, and we can always choose to do good each time.
Prayer to Receive the Holy Spirit
Lord, thank You for the gift of eternal life that You have given us freely through the sacrifice of Your Son Jesus Christ. We are also grateful that our salvation is assured. At times we may forget this, so we ask the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives that He may remind us of this assurance.
We recognize, Lord, that our lives here on Earth are not perfect. We can still sin against You. We pray that the Spirit will always convict our hearts-whenever we sin. Allow these convictions, Lord, to change us from within. We do not want to displease You, Lord, but we cannot be holy on our own. Remind us every day, Holy Spirit, to live our lives the way our Savior Jesus did.
You said in Your Word, Lord, that we should live our lives holy because You are holy. For this, we ask Your Spirit to give us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Help us to manifest these values in our lives every single day. Be our voice of conscience, Holy Spirit, so that our lives may be pleasing to our Heavenly Father.
We also ask Your Spirit, Lord, to teach us how to pray. Prayer does not come naturally to us, so we ask the Spirit to move us to prayer each time. May we always be attentive to the Spirit’s leading. May we always be willing to pray, that we may not quench the Spirit. Thank You also, Lord, that Your Spirit knows our concerns even if we cannot put them to words. Thank You that we have an intercessor on our behalf. Always remind us, Lord, that your Spirit is within us, and that we can pray to You at any time.
All these we ask in Your Name, Amen.

The Sinner’s Prayer is a Christian name relating to any prayer of repentance, prayed by individuals who believe convicted of the presence of sin in their lives and have the desire to establish or renew a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
The Sinner’s Prayer in Scripture
The Sinner’s Prayer is a prayer that is said when someone seeks to repent of their sin, ask God for forgiveness and state their belief in the life, death, and saving resurrection of Jesus Christ. The sinner’s prayer is sometimes also known as the “salvation prayer” or “Consecration Prayer.” In scripture, there is reference to a process of repentance, faith, and salvation in the book of Romans. Romans 10:9-10 says that “if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” These verses are part of the “Romans Road to Salvation” Bible story that gives us a blueprint of salvation through repenting our sin and affirming our faith in Jesus.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:13)
Millions, if not billions, have established a saving relationship with Jesus Christ through church services, friends, and family guiding them in a salvation prayer. However, it is not solely the words in a prayer that save us eternally. We are “justified by faith” in Jesus and saved by our genuine belief in Him. J.D Greerer describes it well – “It’s not the prayer that saves; it’s the repentance and faith behind the prayer that lays hold of salvation. My concern is that over-emphasizing the prayer has often (though unintentionally) obscured the primary instruments for laying hold of salvation: repentance and faith.”

A Simple Sinner’s Prayer
Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in the bible that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as my Lord. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Amen.
I admit that I am a sinner and have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent. I ask you to forgive me.
I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to you. From this day forward, help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases you.
I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. Amen.
Jesus – I know that you made me and want me to obey you with all my heart. I know I have disobeyed and wanted to be my own boss. I have thought and done things against your directions. For this I am sorry. I know that you gave up his life to save me from these sins and make me your child again. I accept your promises and ask you to please save me now and forever. Amen.
“Have mercy on me, O God,
according to Your unfailing love;
according to Your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in Your sight,
so that You are proved right when You speak
and justified when You judge.
Surely I have been a sinner from birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me…
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me and I will be whiter than snow…
Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from Your presence
or take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me.
Then will I teach transgressors Your ways,
and sinners will turn back to You.”
Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith, I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer in honest faith, you will want to write down your initials with the prayer along with today’s date as a reminder that you have come to Christ in faith, trusting him as your Lord and Savior.
In this chaotic world of spiritual warfare, may we look to the grace of God for faith to overcome anxiety. Read and pray with the following prayers for anxiety to strengthen your heart and mind. Trust in God, our creator, for salvation and protection from temptation and evil. We hope these prayers for anxiety will strengthen your faith and lessen your worries.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
7 Prayers for Anxiety
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
Almighty God, We bless you for our lives,
we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace
we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even
though we are not that faithful to you.
Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around
peace in our mind, body, soul, and spirit.
We want you to heal and remove everything that is
causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives.
Please guide our path through life and make our
enemies be at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family,
at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands on.
Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out
and stay by our side when we return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Affirmative Prayer for Freedom from Anxiety
I refuse to worry about anything. I have complete confidence that the God who is always with me is able and willing to direct everything I do, to control my affairs, to lead me into the pathway of peace and happiness.
I free myself from every sense of condemnation, either against myself or others. I lose every sense of animosity. I now understand that there is a Principle and a Presence in every person gradually drawing them into the kingdom of God. I know that the kingdom of heaven is at hand, and I am resolved to enter into this kingdom, to possess it, and to let it possess me. Worry is a thing of the past, and I am free, peaceful, and at rest. In calm trust, I let it be so. And so it is.
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path.
My heart is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the right way to a just and right resolution. Thank you for hearing my prayer and for staying by my side.
Amen!
Prayer for Anxiety and Temptation
O God,
you make all things work together
for good to those who love you.
Fill us with the invincible power of your love
that the holy desires you have put in our hearts
may not be changed by any temptation;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Truth lives forevermore at the center of my being. I know that the faith that walked over the troubled waters of human experience two thousand years ago is at the very center of my own being.
I know that the inner calm that stilled the tempest is accessible to me today. I know that the Truth within me is always triumphant. And so it is.
Thanksgiving prayers are an essential part of expressing your gratitude and joining in fellowship with family and friends. Bless your Thanksgiving dinner with these prayers and give thanks for the many gifts from God this holiday season!
Thanksgiving Day is commonly celebrated in the United States and Canada to remember the harvest and blessings of the past year. This holiday for gathering and gratitude falls on the fourth Thursday of November. The celebration customarily involves sharing a meal that includes dishes such as turkey, pumpkin pie, stuffing, potatoes, and cranberries.
The Thanksgiving holiday is attributed to the English Pilgrims in Plymouth, who held the first harvest feast along with Native Americans back in October 1621. The Pilgrims did this to express their gratitude to the Native Americans for allowing them to begin new lives there. Eventually, Thanksgiving was declared a national holiday in the US, falling on the last Thursday of November.
Thanksgiving Day is cherished as a time for family to gather together. It is a time for loved ones to reconnect with their homes and have a good time with relatives and past relations.
Because the spirit of Thanksgiving is grounded on gratitude, it’s very important to celebrate this holiday with prayer. We ought to thank God who is the source of all the blessings we receive.
In line with this Thanksgiving spirit, here are four prayers to guide you on that special day.
4 Thanksgiving Prayers & Blessings
A Prayer for Thanksgiving Day
As we celebrate this day, we would like to give thanks to You, Father God, source of all blessings. From the earth to the sky to the sea, and everything else You have created, we stand in awe. We cannot help but be grateful for the wonderful creation that you have entrusted to us.
As we see Your creation all around us, may we not forget You, God, the Creator of all things. May we not take these things for granted. May we be good stewards of these things You have generously entrusted to us.
Even every hour of every day, God, is part of Your creation. Teach us to use our days wisely. Allow us to make every moment count. Bless this day, and may we give honor to You in our celebrations for today.
In your Name, we ask all these, Amen.
A Thanksgiving Prayer for Family
Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for this gathering today, to have this opportunity to unite in this joyful day in your name. We thank you for the good physical and mental health, and we recognize and acknowledge that it is you behind all the beauty in the world. We rejoice before the meal in front of us and we are deeply grateful for the warm food and the warmth of togetherness you have bestowed on our family.
Father God, we ask your guidance for the continued love in our family and the total comfort felt by your presence as the center of our lives. We also ask that you guide our extended families wherever they may be today, and we pray that they continue with their endeavors under the guidance of your light. Lord, thank you for everything: for your blessings, and for your comfort.
In your Name, we pray, Amen.
Prayer for a Thankful Heart
Heavenly Father, we confess that at times, we are not as thankful as we should be. Our hearts are often calloused and we forget that there are many reasons to be grateful. We neglect to count the many blessings You have given us and quick to forget the kindness that other people express to us. We even judge others when they do not behave as we expect them to. We take a lot of these things in our lives for granted.
Father God, please forgive us for our sins of ingratitude. Soften our calloused hearts, cleanse our minds from judgmental thoughts, and take away our pride. Instead, allow us to have hearts that are always thankful to You, our families, our friends, and the people around us.
As we celebrate this day of Thanksgiving, allow us, God, to really exhibit the spirit of the occasion. As we gather with our families and loved ones, may we express our gratitude to them in many ways. May our hearts be always filled to the brims with gratitude, and through this, may we be able to extend our gratitude to the ones we love as well.
Even as this season ends, continue to grant us thankful hearts, Father God. Protect us from pride, selfishness, and envy. Let not these bad emotions fill our hearts. Instead, we ask you to always fill our hearts with gratitude.
In Your name,we pray, Amen.
A Prayer of Thanks and Gratitude to God
Our Father in heaven, we recognize that You are the source of everything. Every good and wonderful thing we enjoy in this world comes from You. You deserve the praise and glory, and we give it all to You today.
We come before you today to worship you on this occasion. If there is anyone we must give thanks to first, it is You, God. We would like to honor you on this special day. Before we enjoy our food, the company of our loved ones, and the festivities ahead, we want to give thanks to You first. You have provided us with all these things, and we will always be thankful to You.
As we celebrate this special season, God, please continue to shower us with Your blessings. We acknowledge that without You, we would be nothing, but with You, we have all these things. Prepare our hearts, God, to give You thanks as we commemorate this special holiday.
Thanksgiving will be a day of fun, family, and food. Lots of food. While it’s a great idea to enjoy the festivities, it is also nice to always remember where all your blessings come from. It is always good to keep the spirit of Thanksgiving alive. It’s not just about the food or the people we enjoy eating with. Rather, it’s more about giving thanks to our Heavenly Father who supplies our every need.
This Thanksgiving Day, may we not be distracted by the preparations, the happy times, and the fun we would be having on that day. While that’s all well and good, those things are only temporary. The fun will only last for a day. After that, it’s back to normal again.
What’s more important is a continual attitude of gratitude. That doesn’t just go away after a day. An attitude lasts for a lifetime. And this attitude will shape our lives for the better.
An attitude of gratitude brings a lot of good things to us. When we are grateful, we are happier and fulfilled. When we are always thankful, chances are we complain less. In turn, we become less angry, less negative, and we have the potential for fewer bad days. The people around us will see the changes in our composure. And when we pass on the attitude of gratitude to them, their lives will also be made better.
How can we have this attitude of gratitude? Prayer is important. We need to ask our Father God to always give us a heart that is thankful. Not just once, but every single day of our lives.

The RosaryPrayer refers to a form of invocation used in the Catholic Church and to the string of knots or beads used to count the component prayers.
Rosary Prayer Beads
The prayers that comprise the Rosary are arranged in sets of ten Hail Marys, called decades. Each decade is preceded by one Lord’s Prayer and followed by one Glory Be. During the recitation of each set, a thought is given to one of the Mysteries of the Rosary, which recall events in the lives of Jesus and Mary. Five decades are recited per rosary. Other prayers are sometimes added before or after each decade. Rosary beads are an aid towards saying these prayers in the proper sequence.
A standard 15 Mysteries of the Rosary, based on the long-standing custom, was established by Pope Pius V during the 16th century, grouping the mysteries in three sets: the Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries, and the Glorious Mysteries. During 2002 Pope John Paul II said that it is fitting that a new set of five be added, termed the Luminous Mysteries, bringing the total number of mysteries to 20. These mysteries had been used by Holy Cross Father Patrick Peyton during the 20th century.
The Glorious mysteries are said on Sunday and Wednesday,
the Joyful on Monday and Saturday,
the Sorrowful on Tuesday and Friday, and
the Luminous Mysteries are said on Thursday.
Usually, five decades are recited in a session.
Rosary Prayer Structure
The Rosary is begun on the short strand:
The sign of the cross on the Crucifix;
The prayer “O Lord, open my lips; O God, come to my aid; O Lord, make haste to help me”, still on the Crucifix;
The Apostles’ Creed, still on the Crucifix;
The Lord’s Prayer at the first large bead (for the intentions of the pope and the needs of the Church);
The Hail Mary on each of the next three beads (for the three theological virtues: faith, hope, and charity); and
The Hail Mary on each of the ten adjacent small beads;
The Glory Be on the space before the next large bead; and
To conclude:
The Salve Regina;
The Loreto Litany;
Any further intentions; and
The sign of the cross.

Rosary History
According to pious tradition, the concept of the rosary was given to Saint Dominic in an apparition of the Virgin Mary during the year 1214 in the church of Prouille. This Marian apparition received the title of Our Lady of the Rosary. In the 15th century it was promoted by Alanus de Rupe (aka Alain de la Roche or Blessed Alan of the Rock), a Dominican priest and theologian, who established the “fifteen rosary promises” and started many rosary confraternities.
The Virgin Mary
The rosary has been featured in the writings of Roman Catholic figures from saints to popes and continues to be mentioned in reported Marian apparitions, with a number of promises attributed to the power of the rosary.
In the practice of the Dominican Order, the beginning prayers of the rosary correspond to the beginning of the Divine Office:
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women and Blessed is the Fruit of Thy Womb, Jesus.
O Lord, open my lips.
And my mouth will proclaim Your praise.
Incline Your aid to me, O God.
O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

According to Catholic tradition, prayers to Saint Anthony were to request his aid particularly in finding lost articles. St. Anthony was known as a great preacher and theological instructor. His sermons were so inspiring that his fame spread throughout France and Italy in the ten years before his death. Saint Anthony was known the “hammer of heretics” for his devotion to the faith. Pope Gregory IX, who canonized him as a saint in 1232, called him “The Ark of the Covenant.” He is especially regarded all over the world as the patron saint for the recovery of lost items and is credited with many miracles involving lost people, lost things and even lost spiritual goods.
Prayer to St. Anthony
“Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints”
O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures, made you worthy when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (request). O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.
Francisco de Zurbarán – St Anthony Abbot
This Prayer to St. Anthony asks for help in finding missing items:
Finding what is Lost
Saint Anthony, perfect imitator of Jesus, who received from God the special power of restoring lost things, grant that I may find (mention your petition) which has been lost. At least restore to me peace and tranquility of mind, the loss of which has afflicted me even more than my material loss.
To this favor, I ask another of you: that I may always remain in possession of the true good that is God. Let me rather lose all things than lose God, my supreme good. Let me never suffer the loss of my greatest treasure, eternal life with God. Amen.
Here’s another helpful prayer in which you can insert your request to St. Anthony:
Prayer to Saint Anthony
Wondrous Saint Anthony, glorious for the fame of your miracles, you had the happiness of receiving in your arms our blessed Lord as a little child. Obtain for me from His mercy this favor that I desire from the bottom of my heart: (mention your request)
Since you were so gracious to poor sinners, do not regard the lack of merit on the part of him who calls upon you, but consider the glory of God, which will be exalted once more through you, by the salvation of my soul and the granting of the petition that I now earnestly present to you.
As a pledge of my gratitude, I beg you to accept my promise to live henceforth more faithfully according to the teaching of the Gospel and to be devoted to the service of the poor whom you ever loved and still love so much. Bless this my resolution and obtain for me the grace to be faithful to it till death. Amen.
And, finally, here are some shorter prayers to St. Anthony:
Short Prayers to St. Anthony
Saint Anthony, great wonder-worker, intercede for us that God may grant us our request if it be for the good of our soul.
Saint Anthony, be our patron, our protector, and our advocate in life and in death.
Saint Anthony, attentive to those who invoke thee, grant us the aid of thy powerful intercession for the grace of holy purity, meekness, humility, obedience, the spirit of poverty, and perfect abandonment to the will of God.
Saint Anthony, servant of Mary, obtain for us greater devotion to the blessed Mother of God.
Although St. Anthony’s feast day is June 13th, his aid can be invoked at any time. Let us try to emulate this devoted servant of God in our love of helping others!

Otherwise known as the Universal Prayer or General Intercessions, these prayers are introduced by the celebrating priest, then a deacon or another member of the congregation or the priest himself proposes a number of intentions to pray for, and the people respond with a short invocation such as “Lord, hear our prayer”. Finally, the priest says a concluding prayer.
In the General Intercessions or the Prayers of the Faithful, the people respond in a certain way to the word of God which they have welcomed in faith and, exercising the office of their baptismal priesthood, offer prayers to God for the salvation of all. It is fitting that such a prayer be included, as a rule, in Masses celebrated with a congregation, so that petitions will be offered for the holy Church, for civil authorities, for those weighed down by various needs, for all men and women, and for the salvation of the whole world.
The custom of offering such prayers is rooted in the scripture from 1 Timothy 2:1-6:
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony to which was borne at the proper time.
Prayers of the Faithful Examples
(Priest or leader)

Lead us to be generous with our time, possessions and money.
Lord in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
For those who have lost loved ones recently, comfort them in their grief and heal the broken-hearted.
Lord in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
Finally, we bring to mind any in our community that we know to be need. (pause for a few seconds) May love and goodness fill their lives.
Lord in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
Saint Michael the Archangel held an important heavenly role in doing battle against evil, protecting Christians against assault from the devil. The prayer to Saint Michael originated with Pope Leo XIII in 1886. Legend has it that the Pope received a vision in which he saw the great damage Satan would do to the Church and the world in the 20th century.
Pope Leo XIII
Pope Leo XIII called out to St. Michael for protection from the evil to come:
Prayer to Saint Michael
Saint Michael Archangel,
defend us in battle,
be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil;
may God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, cast into hell
Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
Inspiring Performance of the Prayer to Saint Michael
Variant English translations have “Holy Michael”, “Saint Michael”, “malice and snares”, “may God rebuke him”, “cast into Hell”, “all evil spirits”, “prowl through the world seeking the ruin”, and other differences. The English translation that was used in Ireland is quoted in James Joyce’s novel Ulysses.
Sunday 24 April 1994, Pope John Paul II recommended its use, saying:
May prayer strengthen us for the spiritual battle that the Letter to the Ephesians speaks of: ‘Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might’ (Ephesians 6:10). The Book of Revelation refers to this same battle, recalling before our eyes the image of St Michael the Archangel (cf. Revelation 12:7). Pope Leo XIII certainly had this picture in mind when, at the end of the last century, he brought in, throughout the Church, a special prayer to St Michael: ‘Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil…’ Although this prayer is no longer recited at the end of Mass, I ask everyone not to forget it and to recite it to obtain help in the battle against the forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world.
Pope Leo XIII granted indulgences to bishops and to priests lawfully authorized by their ordinaries who each day would devoutly recite a formula of exorcism against Satan and the rebel angels.
The formula of exorcism, which was then inserted into the Roman Ritual contained within it a quite different prayer to Saint Michael, of which the following is an English translation:
Formula for Exorcism
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
O glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, defend us in battle, and in the struggle which is ours against the principalities and Powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against spirits of evil in high places (Eph 6:12). Come to the aid of men, whom God created immortal, made in his own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil (1 Cor 6:20).
Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there a place for them any longer in Heaven. But that cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan, who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with all his angels (Rev 12:7-9).
Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of man has taken courage, Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of his Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory.
This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity.
These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the Immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions (Lam 3:15).
In the Holy Place itself, where has been set up the See of the most blessed Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.
Arise then, O invincible prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and bring them the victory.
The Church venerates thee as protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious powers of this world and of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude.
Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.
Saint Michael fighting the dragon (miniature from the Book of Hours of the Knight Étienne)
In 1902, a year and a half before the death of Pope Leo XIII, a new edition of the Roman Ritual considerably shortened the formula as a whole and in particular the prayer to Saint Michael within it, making that prayer a sort of preface to the prayer of exorcism. The prayer was shorn of the preceding version’s paragraphs 2-6 and of the phrase “in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious powers of this world and of hell” in paragraph 7.
In his English version of the Roman Ritual, Philip T. Weller gives the following translation:
Roman Ritual
In name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
St. Michael the Archangel, illustrious leader of the heavenly army,
defend us in the battle against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of darkness and the spirit of wickedness in high places.
Come to the rescue of mankind, whom God has made in His own image and likeness, and purchased from Satan’s tyranny at so great a price. Holy Church venerates you as her patron and guardian. The Lord has entrusted to you the task of leading the souls of the redeemed to heavenly blessedness. Entreat the Lord of peace to cast Satan down under our feet, so as to keep him from further holding man captive and doing harm to the Church. Carry our prayers up to God’s throne, that the mercy of the Lord may quickly come and lay hold of the beast, the serpent of old, Satan and his demons, casting him in chains into the abyss, so that he can no longer seduce the nations.
The Opus Sanctorum Angelorum presents the following prayer:
Act of Consecration to Saint Michael the Archangel
Oh most noble Prince of the Angelic Hierarchies, valorous warrior of Almighty God and zealous lover of His glory, terror of the rebellious angels, and love and delight of all the just angels, my beloved Archangel Saint Michael, desiring to be numbered among your devoted servants, I, today offer and consecrate myself to you, and place myself, my family, and all I possess under your most powerful protection.
I entreat you not to look at how little, I, as your servant have to offer, being only a wretched sinner, but to gaze, rather, with favorable eye at the heartfelt affection with which this offering is made, and remember that if from this day onward I am under your patronage, you must during all my life assist me, and procure for me the pardon of my many grievous offenses, and sins, the grace to love with all my heart my God, my dear Savior Jesus, and my Sweet Mother Mary, and to obtain for me all the help necessary to arrive to my crown of glory.
Defend me always from my spiritual enemies, particularly in the last moments of my life.
Come then, oh Glorious Prince, and succor me in my last struggle, and with your powerful weapon cast far from me into the infernal abysses that prevaricator and proud angel that one day you prostrated in the celestial battle. Amen.
Saint Michael is a symbol of strength against the evil forces of the world. May we refer to these prayers in times of darknesss when we are seeking protection, comfort and courage. God Bless
